Grappling with the concept of grace is rather like trying to pack a house into a matchbox! It’s so much bigger than words can adequately describe. Grace is free access to all the provision, resources and anointing of Jesus as a result of our position in Christ through faith in His finished work – His Birth, Life, Death, Resurrection and Ascension. Recently, while cruising on a ship, I was meditating on the seemingly endless expanse of water and felt the analogy of God’s grace being so boundless towards us. Drawing on it wouldn’t in any way deplete it. It surrounds us as far as we can see. It’s the BIG PICTURE of who God is and His plan to bring everything together in Christ Jesus – His deliberate benevolence and kindness toward us in including us in His plans to conform us to the likeness of His Beloved Son, as we enjoy intimate relationship with the triune Godhead.

This provision is so much greater than our comprehension of it and includes everything we will ever need for life and godliness. It’s all about Jesus! Grace “came” with Jesus and can’t be divorced from Him. While watching a container vessel being loaded in one port, I felt the Spirit of God saying that all we have to do is rest long enough in His Presence to allow Him to load us with the cargo of Heaven. He knows what we need and what the world needs and where He will be sending us with His precious cargo. We just have to wait on Him and be “in port” long enough to let Him load us up with His treasures. It’s a matter of positioning ourselves – we need to be at the ‘Container Terminal’, where the work of the ministry and kingdom is administered, and not at the ‘Passenger Terminal’, which speaks of worldly pleasures and entertainment. That’s the only part we need to play – waiting and resting in Him with an attitude of faith – and allowing Him to fill us with the fuel of His Spirit and the treasures of His Kingdom for ourselves and others so He can then direct us to the areas of need, according to His will (the good works He’s prepared in advance for us to do Eph.2:10) These provisions come “containerized” and require unpacking. Some meditation and Bible study and prayer is required to access the riches of His grace but again He provides the Holy Spirit to help us. We just need to believe and co-operate in order to enjoy what He’s already provided. All glory to God for His amazing grace!

Through God’s love and acceptance and because of the cross, I am now confident and consider myself worthy to enter further into greater spiritual realms and dimensions of His presence. I am free and do not live with any fear of judgment of the wrath of God. I don’t live under a religious expectation to be a perfect Christian or that God is rating me on my performance but I now understand that I am seen as perfect in Jesus Christ. This wonderful grace has allowed me to enter and experience greater realms of God’s presence because I understand that I am free and have right standing before God. It has taught me that I do not have to work hard, or strive hard for God’s love. I know that I am entitled to a
relationship with God because He sort after me first.
