Romans 8:16
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.

Ephesians 2:12
Remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

These scriptures clearly portray a God who desires to bring us close to himself, that we may be part of an intimate family, God as our Father, Jesus as both our Lord and our brother. The giving of an inheritance in Bible times was always a significant event. Both parents and children looked forward with excited anticipation and expectation at the promise and proclamation of blessings to come.

Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. This tells us that when we believe in Jesus Christ and become Christians we enter into a Covenant promise of blessing because we are immediately linked to the Covenant given to Abraham. Not only do we have access to these promises but to every other promise that God has ever made to those who become his children. 2 Corinthians 1:20 says For all the promises of God in him are
yes, and Amen
.

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: — That the blessing of Abraham might come on us…

When Jesus sacrificed his life he took upon himself all the curse that came with failing to keep God’s laws. He became a curse for us so that we could enter into the blessings associated with keeping all God’s laws. Those blessings include good health, long life, fruitfulness, authority, influence, protection, provision, financial security and even wealth. Jesus tells us that we have not because we ask not, he instructs us therefore to both ask for whatever we need and to lay claim to the promises that God has made that we as his children now have a right to. Below are just a few references to some of these promises that can build your faith:
