Matthew 8:16 – When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.

Matthew 9:35 – Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

On the 19th May Robyn and I left Perth to travel to Lakeland Florida to witness the current move of God many are calling a modern day Healing Revival. After some 37 hours of travel we arrived tired but excited with the anticipation of being in such meetings. The city of Lakeland is a relatively small city of approx 100,000 people, yet is experiencing an influx of nearly 2000 new people coming in or leaving the city everyday. Restaurants, fast food outlets. Shopping centres and hotels are brimming. Everywhere you go people ask “are you here for the revival?”

The evening meetings which commenced at 7.00pm went for 5-6 hours each night with 1000s of people lining up for some 2 hours or more beforehand in order to get a good seat. The stadium which seats 8000 was 80% full every night. The evenings began with a pre service time of prayer in which 1000s would cry out to God for His presence and glory to fall. Worship would continue for at least one and a half hours and often go longer. There was an undeniable sense of the Presence of God and as Testimonies of past healings were called for waves of healing power were released across the building, many being healed during the worship or while other healings were testified to without anyone specifically praying for them.

During the afternoons of each day 400-500 people were trained to go onto the streets and share the gospel and pray for the sick. As a result many people are responding to the gospel and being saved, others are being healed, throwing away crutches, standing up out of wheelchairs right in the shopping malls and streets.

Here are just some of the miracles we witnessed during this time:
Deaf ears opened, including people who had no eardrums or inner auditory organs.
Blind eyes and many with sight disorders were healed and restored. One man began to see through his glass eye and could feel a new eye beginning to grow behind his artificial one.

Numbers of people came out of wheelchairs, threw away their canes, took off braces. Cancers, tumors, skin diseases, kidney, renal, liver conditions healed. Diabetes, Parkinsons and Multiple Sclerosis and Paralysis. Many of those testifying had come back with verified doctors reports and scans to prove their healing was real.

A lady who was on oxygen 24/7 and scheduled for a lung transplant totally healed to full normal lung capacity. A boy with a deformed face was progressively receiving a healing, his facial bones realigning more each day.

Perhaps the most amazing reports are those of dead people rising to life again. Some 15 cases as of the 29th May.

Truly God is all powerful, He still wants to show his power in today’s skeptical world. This outpouring of healing is not to be limited to one geographical location, but God’s desire is to release that same power throughout the world. All it takes is a people full of faith who have a desire to see His kingdom come on the earth, who give their all to that end and who are willing to take the risk and go and pray for others. Let us be that people.
