God really is amazing! When I stood in response to Bill Johnson’s prayer for the over 60s to receive “refirement” instead of “retirement” I never expected to get an invitation to minister into the nations so quickly with my old friend Gill Patterson! I thought all of that had finished when I left South Africa and my old sphere of influence. But God’s promises are true and sure and He had given me a promise from Isa. 49 over 17 years ago that He would use my mouth in the nations to restore the land and set the captives free.

Our time was spent mostly in Malaysia in four different churches. The first was K.L. International which was celebrating its 4th birthday with a weekend camp at a hotel resort at Port Denison on the coast. Gill spoke on Saturday and had many Words of Knowledge for people that God had downloaded to her while she watched the clouds from the aircraft window. Know that God can speak to you in so many ways and be open for anything!

People responded to these words and came up for ministry and God was so faithful in giving me prophetic words for them too. It was a stretch for me in many ways: my comfort zones, my vision and my heart for people but I learnt so much – the greatest of which is that His anointing flows as we go in obedience and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
God loves people so much that all He needs to bless them is a willing vessel.

It’s so humbling to see hungry people looking to you for a touch from God and then finding that you do, in fact, have something to give them. Rather like the story of the loaves and the fishes – your tiny contribution just multiplies to feed many. I saw again the value of team when we were asked to prophesy over people. Four hours later (without a break for tea or lunch) we finally finished as everyone wanted a word. It would have been impossible for any one person to have done that alone.

Malaysia is such an interesting country and has such a mix of nationalities. Many are refugees waiting to study in Australia, Australia is called Zena, meaning refugee, I thought that as a church we should be open to those who are immigrants and refugees as God can use them to effect the nations when we reach them with the gospel. God gave me a picture like the map in an airline brochure that shows the plane routes, all branching out from K.L. to the nations of the world. As a nation that hosts many foreign students we are also in such a position to touch the nations.

We had two days at Ipoh, 2hrs north of K.L. where we saw many people healed and touched by God through the prophetic ministry and also got to taste some of the best food in the world! We also saw people saved in most meetings, which was the best type of miracle.

So my new definition of “Forever Young” is to stay humble, flexible and teachable and seize the opportunities God gives you to share His Good News and love.
